BroadChain learned that on April 18th, World launched the largest upgrade to the World ID protocol to date, covering approximately 18 million Orb-verified users and expanding to multiple application scenarios including social, meetings, and ticketing.
This upgrade introduces features such as multi-key support, key rotation, account recovery, and session management, while also launching the standalone World ID application as an entry point for user identity authentication and authorization management.
At the application level, Tinder has integrated a "Real Person Verification Badge" to identify genuine users; Zoom has launched the "Deep Face" feature to detect AI-generated fake content in video calls; and a ticketing tool called Concert Kit has also been introduced. Additionally, platforms such as Reddit, Razer, and Mythical Games are exploring or integrating this system.
World introduced the concept of "human continuity," emphasizing not only verifying user identity but also ensuring the consistency of the same real individual across different scenarios. The industry believes this direction may become a crucial infrastructure for combating AI-generated fake content.
